What is tri-OH-THC?
This is one of the cannabinoid compounds that is not available as an isolate because it is not relatively stable enough. Trihydroxy-delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol, or tri-OH-THC, is a benzodiol and metabolite compound created during the growth stage when the cannabis/hemp plant is flowering. It does not naturally occur in all strains of the plant, however.
Link between tri-OH-THC and Delta-9 THC
Preliminary research does show that there is a link between tri-OH-THC and delta 9-THC. This may indicate that tri-OH-THC could have similar (specifically psychoactive) effects on the body were it able to be consumed directly.
Research
There is no significant research into this cannabinoid thus far, but given that it is in the THC class, it is likely that more efforts to understand this cannabinoid will be undertaken in the future. In addition, as further legalization efforts continue, more research will become easier and less restricted in the future, creating greater opportunities to explore lesser-known cannabinoids like this one.
